International Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Do you want to add knowledge about management and control of international and global supply chain and logistics to your bachelor degree? In that case, International Logistics and Supply Chain Management (ILSCM) is the programme for you.

The programme presents new and forward-looking perspectives on logistics and supply chain management and offers you an opportunity to broaden your knowledge in a particular subset of international business administration, representing a nexus of competences and issues which will expand in importance along with the on-going globalisation of firms and organisations. The programme is designed for students who wish to improve their understanding of cross-functional links within and between organisations.

The programme is unique in that it offers a cross-disciplinary education, combining the core topics of logistics and supply chain management with marketing, law, and economic geography. Students gain knowledge and understanding of the supply chain network and its development, as well as of the tools needed to analyse, develop and change such supply chains. The programme prepares students for international careers.

Content

The Master´s programme offers a strong connection between theory and practice.  Students will enjoy continuous and constructive exposure to practice, exchange with practitioners, and insights from the faculty´s internationally recognized research throughout the various modules. Practitioners are invited to make presentations as well as to engage in discussions. Students are introduced to live cases and visits to companies. Learning applications of analytical tools and models are also introduced through the case illustrations. In this way, the learning process is anchored in business practice.
You study all courses in English together with students from all over the world.

You can apply either to a one-year or two-year version of the programme. During the first year, all courses are compulsory. In the second semester, though, you decide on the topic for your 15-credit thesis. In the second year students can also take elective courses during the third semester to deepen their knowledge in a specific area of logistics and supply chain management. The second year also provides clear preparation for continued doctoral studies as it includes an advanced methods course and another thesis. If you study the two-year version of the programme you can study your third semester abroad — further adding to the international dimension of your education and knowledge.

Further studies

The two-year version of the programme prepares you well for continued studies on a doctoral level.
