Gender Geographies 15 Credits

There are many feminisms and there are many geographies. By the end of the course you should have a better understanding of how gender is linked to geography, how and why women’s and men’s everyday lives in different places and parts of the world vary.

The course provides a spectrum of examples of research in gender geography during different time periods, with respect to different study objects in varying geographical locations, both in the Global North and the Global South.

Course Contents

• Perspectives on women, gender, feminism, sexuality and masculinity
• Perspectives on place, space and the environment
• Geographies of inequality in the Global North and the Global South

Prerequisites

General entry requirements. English proficiency is required. Exemption is granted from the requirement in Swedish.
