Personas
The University Library's website is constructed with the use of the persona method, a method where you use archetypal users that represent a larger group of users, and where fictitious descriptions of users aim to understand users' goals, needs and behaviors. These personas are then used as starting-points when you develop the website.
The University Library's personas are based on qualitative investigations in the form of interviews and observations of real users. Each persona represents the behaviors and motivations of a group of users, and is thus not a representative description of demographical characteristics of those groups.
During the development of the University Library's website, five personas were created, of which one, Viktor, became the primary persona for the start page.
