Services for teachers, researchers and doctoral candidates

The University Library offers services specifically designed for researchers, teachers, and postgraduate students. We provide individual guidance, tailor-made courses, lectures, and specifically adjusted loans services.

Loans via internal mail

As a member of staff at Jönköping University, you can request books, including those that are not out on loan, directly from your computer and have them sent to your internal mail box at your school. Click on request in the item information of the bibliographic record in our catalog and we will handle your loan expediently.

Interlibrary loans

Books and articles that are not available at the University Library can be acquired by our interlibrary loan service.

Courses for researchers, teachers and postgraduate students

The Library arranges a doctoral studies course on information retrieval and scholarly communication, and a course in the reference management programme EndNote. The Library also holds a lecture in the course Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.

Information search skills for students

The University Library provides information search skills education for students. It is planned in consultation with the teacher concerned in order for it to be well-suited for the educational level and well integrated with the curriculum. Research publications

According to university policy, researchers and postgraduate students should register their publications in the digital institutional repository DiVA. The University Library provides support and offers individual guidance or guidance in groups on how to register in DiVA.

Open Access, parallel publishing and copyright

As a researcher, you probably want the widest distribution of your research as possible. Therefore, a part of your publishing strategy might consist of  publishing Open Access, that is, making your publications freely available by selecting an Open Access journal. You can also choose to parallel publish your work. The University Library offers help in checking copyright rules, as well as producing the often mandatory cover page for parallel published articles.

Bibliometrics and publication strategy

One aspect of your research strategy is to find appropriate journals in which to publish. For this purpose you may need some knowledge about how to develop a publication strategy and learn how to use some elementary bibliometric tools for journal evaluation.
The University Library offers basic help and guidance regarding publication strategy, elementary bibliometric analyses. EndNote is a reference management tool to which all members of staff at Jönköping University have access. The University Library offers support and courses on how to use EndNote.
