983 international students from 56 countries arrived at Jönköping University during 2011. Most of the students came from European and Asian countries.

983 international students arrived at Jönköping University during 2011. Of these, 697 are exchange students and 286 are free movers, whereof 66 are students from countries outside EU/EEA.

Most of the international students, 595 students or 60,5 percent, are European. The two European countries with the most students at the University are Germany with 103 students and France with 91 students.

Jönköping University also attracts students from other parts of the world. The countries outside Europe with most students at the University are China with 51 students and the USA with 56 students.

Please note that not all international students on campus appear in these statistics. International students enrolled in a study programme receive a Swedish personal identity number after one year in Sweden and are then no longer counted as international students in the statistics. Jönköping University has approximately 350 students from a foreign country with a Swedish personal identity number.
