Instructions for Application to Bachelor's Programmes

N.B. This application form is only for students living outside Sweden. Before you fill in the form, please read the following information carefully.

In order to apply for a programme, follow these steps:

  1. Fill in the application form. Please note that the postal address and e-mail address given will be used for all future communication. It is therefore very important that the information is correct. Applicants may only apply for a maximum of two programmes, a primary and secondary choice.
  2. When you have completed the application form, please check the information carefully before clicking on the “Submit application" button.
  3. Print out the application form as instructed on the web page. The application form must be signed by you and sent by post to Jönköping University, Admissions Office, Gjuterigatan 5, SE-553 18 Jönköping, Sweden and must be supported by the following certified documentation:
  • High School/Upper Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including official transcript from the last year of study. For applicants from the USA official transcripts from the last four years of study and a Cum GPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) are compulsory.
  • Students in their final year of high school/upper secondary school must apply with their second to last transcript. Conditional acceptance will be granted on the basis that the GPA does not drop significantly in the final semester. Students must show original documents when they arrive.
  • Certificate of English language proficiency (an internationally recognized test e.g. IELTS/TOEFL taken after 1 January 2009, if English is not your native language. All TOEFL tests must be sent straight from Educational Testing Service (ETS). The institution code of Jönköping University is nr. 8487.   • A certified copy of your passport (if you are not a citizen of an EU/EEA country or Switzerland, certification of your passport copy is not required. EU/EEA/Swiss citizens may submit a certified copy of a valid identity card which clearly states citizenship in place of a passport copy.)

Please sort your documents according to the list above, with the application form first. N.B.: You must send a complete application package, even if you have applied previously.

Important: The documents must be stamped and signed by the issuing school or a notary public in the original language and in an officially certified translation into Swedish or English, if the documents are issued in another language. All copies must be officially certified as true copies, i.e. stamped and signed by the issuing school or a notary public.

Applications that are not supported by officially certified documents, will not be processed. Jönköping University checks the authenticity of documents with the issuing school.

Application Deadline

Application open until 2 May.

The complete application, (i.e. the application form and the supporting documents) must, for rapid processing of your application, reach the Admissions Office within two weeks after the online submission of the application.  If you are unable to submit the application form and the supporting documents within the two week period, please contact the individual schools for further information:

When your application and all enclosed documents have reached the Admissions Office, you will receive an reply via e-mail.

Application Fee

Sweden has introduced an application fee of SEK 900 for citizens outside the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland. More information regarding who is required to pay fees

Online Application Form

Applicants who submit the application form via the web page without sending a complete application together with supporting documents will not be considered. Neither will applications sent by fax or e-mail be processed.
