Computer Support Parametric Design and CAD 7,5 Credits
Course Contents
As a prerequisite for the course the student must have had basic training in solid modelling and in making engineering drawings using CAD. In the course, additional modelling techniques are introduced and trained. The students will also employ programming and variant design to work more efficiently in CAD. The course will also introduce methods and systems to handle product data in organizations. In the course, the students will receive training in making engineering drawings. The course includes the following elements:
-Specifying tolerances and other requirements in CAD.
-The parametric CAD-model
-Modelling techniques, for instance :
o Feature modeling
o Boolean modeling
o Surface / Skeleton
o Top down
o Template/UDF (User Defined Feature)
- Modelling for configuration and variant design
-Using computer support in design work
