Software Engineering Methods 6 Credits

Course Contents

The course creates an understanding of software development as an engineering process and provides students with detailed knowledge on modern methods in software engineering. The course covers process models, typical phases and important results of each phase (artefacts). Emphasis will be on model-based approaches for specifying, designing and testing software, not on coding.

The course includes the following topics:
- Software Process Models
- Software Specification (Requirements Engineering, Formal Specification)
- Software Design (Architecture and System Structure, Architecture Styles )
- Validation and Verification
- Software Evolution
- Model-Based Software Engineering
- Model-Driven Architecture
- Sustainability aspects in Software Engineering

Prerequisites

Passed courses 180 credits in first cycle, at least 90 credits within the major subject Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering (with relevant courses in Computer Engineering), and 21 credits Mathematics, and English Language requirements corresponding to English A in the Swedish upper secondary school
