The course covers the theories behind, and use of, operating systems for real-time applications and embedded systems.

The course covers the following topics:

- Introduction to Real-Time Systems
- Structure of operating systems, including real-time properties
- Concurrent Programming
- Scheduling of real-time tasks
- The use of operating systems
- A survey of the research in one area of the operation systems field
