Social Work, Participation and Citizenship 15 Credits

Course Contents

- citizenship, participation and societal processes in the welfare society
- theories for understanding disability, ageing and ethnicity
- empowerment and social mobilization as a recourse for civic engagement and participation
- voluntary activities, resources in civil society and the significance of social networks
- participation and integration linked to housing and work
- strategies for users´ involvement in assessment processes and problem solving.

Prerequisites

General entry requirements and passing grades in courses of 150 credits in the main subject of Social Work. Furthermore fullfilled the course requirements for Theory of Science and Research Methodology and Specialisation in Social Work, 15 credits and Social work, thesis, 15 credits or equivalent.
International students are required to demonstrate equivalent grades and knowledge.
