Admissions and Application

Writing

All international students must fulfil the general admission requirements as well as all specific admission requirements for the individual courses in order to be admitted to the School of Education and Communication.

Exchange students

Exchange students must apply through the international office at their home university. Please contact the international office at your university for further information.

Visiting and exchange students cannot obtain a degree from HLK. However, credits obtained at HLK usually count towards your degree studies at your home university.

International exchange/visiting students are fully integrated into the main student body at HLK. International students are treated the same as any other HLK student.

Course Selection

Full-time studies at HLK consists of 30 ECTS credits per semester. Each course is worth 7,5 ECTS credits unless otherwise noted. We recommend that all international students who do not speak Swedish to take the Swedish Language, Culture and Society course.

Prerequisites

General prerequisites for all international exchange students are as follows:

  • One year of completed studies at university level
  • Fluency in English equivalent to a 550 TOEFL score

Application

The application form is only available to our partner universities. Please contact your International Coordinator at your university/institution to receive the application form. You will get a message if you are accepted or not in June/November. All accepted students will also receive information about studying in Jönköping, accommodation and the Introduction Week etc.

Application deadline for the Spring semester 2012 is November 15 and for the Fall semester 2012 is May 15.

Tuition and Application Fees

Students who are citizens of countries outside the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland are required to pay application and tuition fees in Sweden.
