The School of Education and Communication offers four undergraduate programmes which lead to a Bachelor's degree: Teacher Education, Media and Communication Sciences, International Work and Human Resource Management. There are also Doctoral programmes that focus on Educational theory and prctice, Media and Communication studies and Disability studies.
Although all programmes are primarily taught in Swedish, there are many exciting elective courses in English that are offered to our exchange students.
International Work focuses on the relationships between people, as well as people's relationship to the world. Issues such as democracy, sustainable development and different cultures are included in the studies. The programme prepares students to work in international areas such as foreign aid, international development or peace and conflict resolution.
Teacher Education in Jönköping has a strong professional orientation that equips future teachers with an excellent palette of skills. This prepares them for a career in an increasingly knowledge-oriented society. The different Teacher Education programmes also focus on issues such as sustainable ecological development and intercultural and global issues.
The Media and Communication Sciences Programme has a strong international perspective offering students excellent opportunities to study and undertake work placements abroad. It prepares students comprehensively by providing theoretical and practical foundations in media and communication alongside different areas of specialisation.
The Human Resource Management Programme gives a broad knowledge in the Human Resource area with an emphasis on learning in the workforce. The programme specialises in communication, competence development, recruitment, social psychology, leadership and occupational psychology.
