The International Management programme combines entrepreneurship, business renewal, and internationalization to offer you a broad perspective on business and provide a good foundation for your future career. The education is based on courses in business administration and economics and gives you the opportunity to personalize your curriculum. International Management is EPAS accredited, indicating its recognition as a high-quality management education programme.

Content

The International Management programme offers a stimulating learning process by combining theory and practice. Already during the first semester you establish direct connections with business life through our host company programme. Your studies are conducted in English together with other students from all over the world and are taught by a highly international faculty.

The first two years of studies present an introduction to business administration through courses in entrepreneurship and business planning, marketing, organi sation and leadership, finance, accounting, and strategy. In parallel, you also study courses in economics and statistics. During the fifth semester you take elective courses — meaning that you customize your education by selecting courses of particular interest to you in business administration or related areas. During this semester you are expected to study abroad at one of our many partner universities. You can, however, also choose to study electives at JIBS. During the sixth and final semester you further develop your knowledge in a specified area by writing a thesis in business administration. In parallel you take a course in business ethics and have the opportunity to select yet another elective course.

Further studies

The programme adheres to the European system for higher education, which means that after finishing your degree, you can apply to Swedish and international Master programmes.

Career Prospects

Entrepreneurial expertise is becoming increasingly important due to the restructuring of large corporations and public organisations into smaller, relatively self-sustaining businesses. Moreover, the need for highly educated leaders is growing steadily as a result of increased internationalisation in the business world.

Today´s markets are signified by a continuous exchange of goods and services over national boundaries. Large companies are often divided into smaller and autonomous units, and continuous change is required to keep up with expectations on the market. All in all, this means that international and entrepreneurial competencies are increasingly important — something that the International management programme takes into account through its focus on entrepreneurship, business renewal and internationalisation.

With a degree from the International Management programme at JIBS you have an excellent foundation for starting your own business or pursuing an international career as trainee, business developer, financial assistant, junior analyst, marketing coordinator, salesperson, product manager, brand manager, account manager/ key account manager/service manager, marketing assistant, export manager, or project leader.
