Jönköping International Business School

International Marketing

International Marketing is a programme that increases your ability to understand and meet the challenges many companies currently face as a result of increasing globalisation and a changing competitive climate. The programme offers you a year of advanced studies to build a specialisation in international marketing in your bachelor degree. It includes courses that shed light on contemporary marketing issues, but also courses that help you comprehend the nature of the global economy.

Content

During the year you study courses which focus on consumer behaviour, market research, retail, marketing communications, international marketing and export, and globalisation of economic activity. The course content is adjusted to mirror contemporary research and the situation companies experience right now. For example, you will be engaged in discussions about how consumers relate to and affect each other, how digital media influence planned communications, and how export is managed. During the second semester you write a 15-credit thesis supervised by professors at JIBS.

Further studies

If you want to pursue a research career, the master degree from International Marketing can serve as a base in your application to Doctoral studies.

Career Prospects

Globalisation and international competition is an established part of contemporary business life. Consequently, competence in international marketing is something that most companies require and even in the future. What position you get after graduating from the International Marketing programme will depend on your previous work experience and bachelor studies. Some examples of  job positions that you might apply for after graduation include: marketing manager, export manager, export consultant, international account manager.
