Jakob Heidbrink

Research

Jakob Heidbrink is interested in the general law of contracts, and in the private law of international trade. He also takes interest in the mechanics of regulation. His main current project concerns the legal effects of taking somebody else's chattels into one's custody (bailment, in English law). The project started in 2007, and is expected to be completed, at the latest, by the end of 2011. He is also engaged in inter-disciplinary research into the effects of legal requirements to label clothes with the country of origin.

Biography

Jakob Heidbrink is an Assistant Professor at JIBS since 2006. He obtained his doctorate degree in law from Stockholm University in 2005 for his thesis "Logistikavtalet" (The Contract for Logistics). He holds a B.A. in General Linguistics, a LL.M. from Stockholm University, and a M.Jur. from the University of Oxford. Apart from his position in Jönköping, he regularly holds lectures at the University of Stockholm, and is the law of sales coach for the Stockholm University team in the international Vis Arbitration Moot Court Competition.
