From March 1 in 2007, Lundin is back into full time research working with media and project organizing at MMTC. Empirically, he is currently into TV production and theoretically into Temporary Organizations where he has published extensively since the end of the 80´s. He is also active in the International Research Network on Organizing by Projects (IRNOP) which was founded by him in the early 90´s. Since that time, IRNOP has arranged research conferences biannually.
Lundin graduated 1966 in Gothenburg and got his licentiate degree in 1968 on computer simulation of a signalized traffic system. In 1973 he was awarded a PhD at the University of Chicago in the Management Science area. From 1973 he held various positions at the Gothenburg school, among them acting full professor in Business Administration and head of department. In 1978 he accepted a position as full professor of Business Administration at the University of Umeå, where he was the founding dean of the Umeå Business School and the founding editor of Scandinavian Journal of Management.
In 2001 he was appointed Dean of Jönköping International Business School holding that position until 2007.
