There are six computer labs at JIBS, on level 2 and 3, that are available to students 24 hours a day, seven days a week, unless they are booked for lectures or seminars. You need an access card to enter, which will be given to you at the beginning of the autumn semester.
In order to use the school computers and IT systems, you need a user account. All new students receive a user account when they register via the web before starting their studies. Instructions on how to register are found in the blue folder that is sent to your home. If you have not got a blue folder, please contact the Student Office. Your user account is used to log on to all school computers, read your e-mail, check JIBSnet (JIBS intranet) or use Ping Pong.
Ping Pong is the learning management system of Jönköping University, and is used for course information and communication between students and teachers. You log in to Ping Pong with your user account, but to get information about specific courses you need a special password. This will be given to you by you teacher at the first course moment.
You will be notified via e-mail of your examination results. You can follow your study progress via Ladok: https://lpw.hj.se.
The printing and copying system of Jönköping University uses cashless payment for students. Payments are handled through an online solution, using PayEx. You can print, copy and scan documents on the same machine. Printing is done via ”Follow print” which means that the printing does not start until you are logged in at the printer, using your access card. If you do not collect your printouts from a printer within 24 hours, they will be deleted from the printing queue.
All buildings on campus are covered by a wireless network, which students may use for free. If your laptop does not have a wireless connection, there are also plenty of wired internet connections that can be used. You log on with your user account.
If you have any problems with your account or if the network, computers or printers are not functioning properly, contact Helpdesk. There are several manuals and tips on how you can solve various problems on the Helpdesk website. Helpdesk is located on the third floor between the yellow building of the School of Engineering and the white building of JIBS. The easiest way to report an error is via this link: helpdesk.hj.se.
