About us

The School of Engineering, JTH, is one of four schools that are part of Jönköping University. It is our vision to be leaders in Europe in developing and spreading new technology and knowledge that reinforce the international competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Education in collaboration with industry

JTH offers education at bachelor, masters and doctoral levels (first, second and third-cycle levels), and 2-year courses at university college level and higher vocational education level. Contact with industry is an important part of our education in order to ensure that the education is anchored in reality, and to acquire practical experience.

Research and Doctoral Programmes

Research and third-cycle education are targeted at Industrial product realisation in cooperation, especially applications for small and medium-sized enterprises. Research takes place in collaboration with companies, research institutes and other university colleges of technology, in common projects.

Research Areas

JTH has the right to award third-cycle degrees within the field of industrial product realisation, with the three subjects of technical third-cycle education: Machine design, Materials and manufacturing processes, and Production systems. The Research School in Industrial Product Realisation was opened in January 2011.

International contacts

International exchange with our 70 partner universities means that many students from abroad visit JTH each year. Students at JTH also enjoy excellent opportunities to study abroad. This is a fantastic chance to gain international experience and to broaden one's skills.

Collaboration

"Centrum för Ledarskap" has been formed with the aim of co-ordinating and promoting commissioned education and independent courses in leadership and company development. JTH is part of the "Bättrekonceptet" that gives courses designed for industry.

JTH is heavily engaged in the work of renewing and developing the region. The three nodes at Eksjö, Nässjö and Värnamo allow us to give education that has been developed to satisfy the needs of the labour market.

Our alumni are important to us. They are members, for example, of the management groups of programmes, and they act as supervisors for degree projects, mentors for students, and collaborators in research projects.
