Organisation

The School of Engineering is one of four schools within Jönköping University.

Jönköping University is characterized by internationalization, an entrepreneurial spirit and collaboration with the surrounding society. Research and education are carried out at four schools:

University Services is responsible for local supplies, the University Library, and management and services to the foundation and the four schools.

The School of Engineering

Operations at the School of Engineering are led by a dean, who has academic responsibility for the operations. The management group supports and advises the dean. The board comprises 11 members from industry, other university colleges, trades unions, personnel and student representatives, and others.

Departments

Operations are organised into seven departments, each of which is led by a departmental head. Education and research are carried out in the following five departments:

  • Civil Engineering and Lighting Design
  • Computer and Electrical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering and Management
  • Mathematics, Physics, and Chemical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

Further departments are the Department of Education Administration and the Dean's Office.

Councils and committees

A number of councils and committees have been organised within the School of Engineering: educational council, research and third-cycle education council, council for quality assurance of education and third-cycle education, research faculty and its committee, management groups for education, council for international contacts, council for host company programme, alumnus council, scholarships council, IT council, work environment committee and recruitment committee.
